A Tale of Two Cities : East and West Jerusalem

West Jerusalem stands today as a modern and polished urban center, yet beneath its streets and structures lie stories of displacement, transformation, and erasure. After 1948, once-thriving Palestinian neighborhoods like Qatamon, Baq’a, and Talbiya were emptied and absorbed into a new national narrative—one that built over memory with concrete, bureaucracy, and silence. Through my lens, I document this complex geography where elegant stone houses whisper of forgotten lives, and modern institutions rise atop old roots. This gallery invites the viewer to look deeper—beyond what is seen, into what was lost, and what still lingers in the corners of West Jerusalem’s present
